More course information
In the Advanced Resuscitation course you will develop the skills, knowledge and confidence required to provide an emergency response and use specialised equipment for those in need of resuscitation, in a range of complex situations, including community and workplace settings.
Participants will also learn how to monitor and handover the casualty to medical professionals for further care, and how to maintain resuscitation and oxygen equipment.
- Providing effective, lifesaving first aid interventions requires instruction and practical training. This is especially true where it relates to potentially fatal illnesses and injuries, such as those that require cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). As with any training, it is beneficial if it occurs before being confronted with a real-life situation.
- This Advanced Resuscitation course is delivered in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines and applies to all workers or members of the community who may be required to provide CPR and oxygen in the event of an emergency.
On successful completion of this course, you will receive a nationally recognised statement of attainment for the following units:
- HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
- HLTAID015 Provide Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen Therapy
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid (combined course only)
A digital copy will be available to download from your learner dashboard, usually within 48 hours.*
This is dependent on participants completing their online training successfully. if not, the certificate will be delayed until they have done so.
If a hard copy of the certificate is required, this needs to be requested in advance. An extra $5 will be added for this. Please note hard copies can take up to 30 business days to arrive (based on Australia post). It is recommended that this unit be renewed every 3 years in line with industry standards.
RECERTIFICATION
It is recommended that the HLTAID015 Provide Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen Therapy course be renewed every 12 months, in line with industry standards.48

What is Advanced Resuscitation?
An advanced resuscitation course (sometimes called advanced resus course or advanced CPR) is a step up from the standard Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation course (CPR), as it includes training in the use of specialised equipment in the provision of resuscitation and oxygen therapy in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.
Is HLTAID007 the same as HLTAID015?
The HLTAID007 Provide advanced resuscitation course has now been replaced by HLTAID015 Provide advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy as the current and equivalent qualification for anyone requiring advanced training in resuscitation and oxygen therapy.
