So, by completing HLTAID003 Provide First Aid – you are meeting the requirements needed by your workplace/university/school.
Yes, it does! All of our First Aid Courses are comprehensive first aid courses which covers both general first aid along with HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation; the CPR course, which must be renewed annually to stay current, whereas the HLTAID003 Provide First Aid, HLTAID004 Provide a Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care Setting and HLTAID005 Provide First Aid in Remote Situations are only renewed every 3 years – which is why the CPR course: HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, is provided separately.
My First Aid Course- provides several courses which include:
HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation: Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation will give you the skills and knowledge required to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines.
HLTAID003 Provide First Aid: Provide First Aid will give you the confidence and skills in how to provide first aid response, life support Including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and management of casualty(s) until the arrival of medical or other assistance.
HLTAID004 Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting: Provide an Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care setting will give you the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants, children and adults and applies to educators and support staff working within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies. This course is recommended for childcare workers, teachers, teacher aides and After School carers.
HLTAID005 Provide First Aid in Remote Situations: Provide First Aid in Remote Situations will give you the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid response and emergency life support to a casualty in a remote and/or isolated situation. This training is suitable for workers who may be required to prepare for and provide a first aid response in locations beyond the reach of timely medical assistance, whether it be for work (e.g. mines, agriculture, outdoor education), or for lifestyle (hikers, those who travel a lot to Moreton Island or Fraser Island, those who go on 4WD trips). Essentially, this is recommended for anybody who work/travel in locations more than 1 hour away from medical assistance.

It is a requirement of all our first aid and CPR courses that you are physically capable of performing uninterrupted CPR for at least 2 minutes on a CPR manikin placed on the floor. To be certified and complete any of our certificates, whether it be HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, HLTAID003 Provide First Aid, HLTAID004 Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting or HLTAID005 Provide First Aid in Remote Situations, you must be able to meet this requirement.
Parts of our courses include getting down on your knees for CPR and recovery position. Kneeling is a key part of the physical component of our courses- if you cannot get onto your knees, we recommend waiting until you are physically able to do so.
Pregnant Mum’s often contact us to ask if they can complete the course. If you are Pregnant you are more than welcome to do one of our First Aid or CPR courses but we would recommend you do so prior to your final trimester if you are able. If not you are very welcome but keep in mind that CPR can be quite tiring. We occasionally get Pregnant Mum’s who want to come in prior to the course and trial doing compressions on our Manikins. If you would like to do this just contact us via email or phone and this can be arranged no problems. So far every Mum that has taken this step has ended up feeling more confident and has completed their course with no issues.
If you have a cold or flu or the signs and symptoms of a cold such as coughing, an infection in your nose, sinuses, or throat (or even a mild temperature) we would prefer you book approximately 2 weeks after such symptoms have subsided as we need to protect the health of our clients.
If you have a health issue that does not affect your ability to perform CPR uninterrupted for two minutes, however, you are still concerned about aspects of the course, or you have questions regarding the training- please feel free to send us an enquiry via the Contact Us tab on our website, or you can call us at 07 38726777
All training courses and assessments are delivered on behalf of Allens Training Pty Ltd. RTO 90909, one of Australia’s largest and most experienced providers of first aid, health and safety training. As Allens Training Pty Ltd. is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), all first aid, CPR qualifications and certificates My First Aid Course provide are nationally recognised. If you are looking for the Nationally recognised logo you will find this on the Allens Training Pty Ltd. site above.
Depending on who your health insurer is, the type of fund you have and the level of cover, you may be able to claim your first aid course. You will need to contact your health insurer to see if this is an option available to you.
There may be some terms and conditions to claim your first aid/ CPR course, e.g. the training must be nationally accredited, and must be provided by a government-accredited Registered Training Organisation (RTO). To see what is required to claim your course, contact your health insurer.
As My First Aid Course is a partner of Allen’s Training, we provide nationally accredited courses and as Allen’s Training is an RTO, we fall under their registration. If there are any specific requirements and you are confused as to whether My First Aid Course meets them, please contact us at 07 38726777 or make an enquiry online via our ‘Contact Us’ tab.7
There isn’t a minimum age limit, if your child is under 13, we would ‘prefer’ an adult to accompany them or if they are over 13 they are fine to complete the course by themselves- however, parents/guardian’s/caregivers will need to fill out a consent form for anyone under 18 – which will be sent to you at the time of booking. For your child to gain a certificate they will just need a unique email address and a USI number which are both available online.
A physical requirement of our accredited courses is the ability to perform CPR uninterrupted for two minutes and roll an adult into the recovery position whilst on your knees – if this is not possible, we are able to provide a Certificate of Participation rather than a Statement of Attainment. First aid and CPR are important skills and we highly recommend learning these skills, if you wish to learn. However, if you are younger (e.g. under 13) or older (and you cannot kneel down) you are allowed to come and join the course, just without completing the required assessment. Doing this you will be able to learn about CPR and first aid and use it in your daily life- you just won’t have a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment.
First Aid and CPR certificates sadly have been known to be faked and a ‘valid certificate’ will be required by your workplace/school/university.
As we are a partner of Allens Training Pty Ltd RTO 90909, you can use this link to verify if the certificate is valid. Enter in all the details required- make sure to enter in the name that is on the certificate, then click on the Verify button
If the certificate is valid, you will see a white P in a green box, and the words ‘Yes, this person has completed this course as follows’. The name of the course participant and the details of the course will be listed below the green box.
However, if the certificate is invalid, you will see a white X in a red box, and the words ‘The information you have entered was invalid. Please check the information you have entered matches the certificate. If you have any questions, please contact us at 07 3872 6777 or make an enquiry online via our ‘Contact Us’ tab.
An unverifiable certificate undermines the reliability of the first aider in the community, is illegal, and it is certainly unethical, and compromises safety.
YES – we understand that mistakes can happen and you may have booked into the incorrect course. Due to this, we are happy to arrange an ‘upgrade’ for you from the one you completed to the one that you need.
With this, the upgrade session must be completed within THREE weeks of the original booked course date. This ensures that your skills are current and up to date with what information is required.
To upgrade from your older unit to the required unit will incur an administration fee. This covers the cost of the additional training itself as well as the issuing of a new certificate.
$75.00 : HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation to HLTAID003 Provide First Aid.
$70.00 : HLTAID003 Provide First Aid to HLTAID004 Provide a Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care Setting.
$130.00 : HLTAID003 Provide First Aid to HLTAID005 Provide First Aid in Remote Situations.
Unfortunately no, we are unable to accept the components you have completed through the alternate RTO. This is due to the fact that we did not witness and assess the tasks that were completed through this RTO.
So we can ensure that you have been taught the correct information and are competent as per the course requirements you will need to complete the full course through us if you wish to upgrade to the required unit.
