    • OPTION 1: 2 hr Express Practical Assessment 
      (w/ extended online learning)
    • OPTION 2: 6 hr Blended (short online + face-to-face) (Available at Deagon on Wednesdays or for groups anytime)

GAP COURSE OPTION: For individuals who are completing a qualification that specifically requires and only accepts HLTAID003 Provide first aid. Only those who have completed the HLTAID011 Provide First Aid unit are eligible to complete this GAP assessment.

What You Will Learn
This course will give participants confidence and skills in how to provide first aid response, life support including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and management of casualty(s) until the arrival of medical or other assistance. It is recommended that this unit be renewed every 3 years according to industry standards.

Course Delivery Methods

  • This delivery method is best suited to returning students that are audio-visual learners and confident in learning online.
  • All the knowledge content of the training is delivered through our online learning system (Training Desk) and the theory component of the assessment is completed online, prior to a short face to face practical assessment.
  • It is essential that students have access to a reliable online device and internet access.
  • Study anywhere (home, work, etc.) & on any device (phone, computer, etc.)
  • Assessments at Albion, Bridgeman Downs (opposite JB HiFi Carseldine), Chermside & Deagon on Saturdays!
  • This course delivery type is best suited for hands on learners and first timers
  • Students complete a short portion of online learning prior to the face to face training and assessment.
  • All topics are covered in the face to face session along with all assessment elements.
  • This is our preferred and  signature delivery method as at My First Aid Course, we are all about interactive hands on training
  • Available at Deagon only on Wednesdays or for groups anytime
  • Course Timing: 9:00am -3:00pm

*Course may take up to 30-45 mins extra depending on group size and learner's competency level. Smaller groups may finish earlier by up to 30 mins.

*Approx. 5.5 hours of online theory and theory assessment with a 30-45 minutes face to face practical assessment with the trainer depending on your background and experience.

How it works: Online & Face to Face Training

1. COMPLETE THE ONLINE MODULES

Complete the video-based online training at home or in the workplace. Modules will turn green when finished.

2. ATTEND PRACTICAL

Attend your face-to-face training or assessment-only session. Bring black or blue pen, photo ID and comfortable clothing. You will need to perform at least 2 minutes of continual CPR on a CPR manikin on the floor.

3. RECEIVE YOUR CERTIFICATE

Upon successful completion, you will receive a statement of attainment HLTAID0011 Provide First Aid. This certificate is recommended for renewal every 3 years.

Once booked you will receive an email with details of your chosen assessment location and time. Simply complete the video based online training on your chosen device at your convenience.


Remember:

  1. Your online learning must be complete before attending your practical assessment.
  2. All modules will become green when this is finished
  3. To ensure you are fully prepared and confident for the practical assessment, rewatch the assessable topics carefully just prior to coming in.

When attending your chosen assessment location, on the day, remember to bring:

  • Pen
  • Form of identification (Drivers License, Passport, Photo I.D. Card, Student card)
  • Wear comfortable clothing
  • Smart phone for online sign-on

Once booked you will receive an email with details of your chosen training location and time.

  1. Simply complete the pre-course learning module (approx 30-60 minutes)
  2. Your pre-course online learning must be completed before attending the face-to-face training.

When attending your hands-on training day, remember to bring:

  • Pen
  • Form of identification (Drivers License, Passport, Photo I.D. Card, Student card)
  • Wear comfortable clothing
  • Smart phone for online sign-on
For face-to-face courses, durations reflect the group sizes of between 4 and 15 participants. If there are fewer students, you may find course duration reduced by a maximum of 10%. If your group exceeds 15 participants, it may be necessary to increase course length.
This course requires that you are physically capable of performing uninterrupted CPR for at least 2 minutes on a CPR manikin placed on the floor.

It is recommended that the HLTAID011 Provide First Aid course be renewed every 3 years in line with industry standards.

What you will receive on successful completion of the course:
On successful completion of the HLTAID011 Provide First Aid unit which incorporates the content of the following units: HLTAID010 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support and HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, students will receive a certificate that is valid for 3 years from the course completion date. 

Your Certificate(s) will be emailed to you on the next business day. If you need it urgently, please contact us at the time of booking via Notes section in your booking.

If a hard copy of the certificate is required, this needs to be requested in advance. An extra $5 will be added for this. Please note hard copies can take up to 30 business days to arrive (based on Australia post).

Pre-booked public courses are not eligible for refunds for missed classes or incomplete workbooks. However, this will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, depending on extenuating circumstances such as medical or family emergencies. You may change your course date to another date provided you have informed us 48 hours in advance of your original booked date. Any alternate date is subject to availability and must be scheduled within 2 months of your original booking date. A rescheduling fee of $15 for CPR, or $25 for all other courses will be incurred if no notice is given and you need to reschedule on the day of your course. Performance Tasks and Practical Scenarios:

  • Perform CPR on an adult (incl. the use of an AED and placing a casualty into the recovery position)
  • Complete a first aid incident report form based on the simulated first aid scenario
  • Perform CPR on an infant
  • Manage a casualty with anaphylaxis
  • Manage a casualty with asthma
  • Manage a choking casualty
  • Manage a casualty with non-life-threatening bleeding and shock, requiring minor wound cleaning
  • Manage a casualty with a nosebleed
  • Manage a casualty with a fracture and dislocation
  • Manage a casualty with a sprain and strain
  • Manage a casualty with envenomation (snake/funnel web spider bite)

Theory assessment: A written assessment consisting of multiple-choice questions.
